Modular scrubber
The modular scrubber is supplied in one of two configurations. In its simplest form the scrubber comprises an inlet water spray for cooling followed by an eliminator section that removes water before transferring the cooled gas to the second cooling stage within the scrubber. The secondary or sub-cooling section within the scrubber comprises a labyrinth section that allows the gas to have intimate contact with the secondary water sprays whilst expanding and contracting in a turbulent cooling process. Fresh water usage is dependant on the heat to be removed, and the particulate levels being removed. In many areas of the world, the use of water is an important consideration. Water usage is minimised by a variety of methods including; recirculation of the first and second stage, removal of particulates in the first stage by a flat bed filter, and by the installation of a separate cooler to cool a proportion of the second stage water loop.
The final stage in the scrubber is a mist elimination stage before the scrubbed gases pass to the fan.
